1. Zhengzhou Cotton
Positive Factors:
1. Good destocking of downstream yarn inventories before the holiday, and expected replenishment of raw materials after the holiday.
2. Inclusion of Xinjiang cotton continues, providing price support.
3. The signing of the first phase of the US-China agreement is favorable for the phased recovery of domestic and foreign demand.
4. Improved capital liquidity.
Negative Factors:
1. Yarn mills need to repair immediate profits, and the grey fabric end is still in the destocking cycle.
2. High industrial and commercial inventories, and it takes time for the state reserve replenishment to alleviate the pressure of phased supply relaxation.
3. The price difference between domestic and foreign cotton has been repaired, and imported cotton with 1% tariff can be imported.
4. Polyester substitutes cotton consumption.
2. US Cotton
Positive Factors:
1. India's CCI reserves have a supporting role on cotton prices.
2. The USDA January report continues to improve the US cotton 19/20 balance sheet.
3. Foreign yarn production profits continue to improve, which is beneficial to cotton consumption.
4. US cotton has been expected to be reserved.
Negative Factors:
1. The execution of a large number of unshipped contracts signed by China for US cotton requires the continued improvement of the subsequent trade war situation.
2. The weak bottoming out of the macro-economy, weak demand, and destocking require time.

1. Changes in the Sino-US trade situation.
2. Continue to monitor the listing progress of major cotton-producing countries.

1) This week's National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (NPC & CPPCC) in China boosted market expectations for steady growth. In February, the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for manufacturing stood at 50.2%, up 1.1 percentage points from the previous month, indicating a significant improvement in the manufacturing sector.


In 2024, China's exports of dyed and printed fabrics to Vietnam and Bangladesh increased significantly.


In 2024, China's dyeing industry saw rapid export growth to ASEAN and RCEP member countries, exceeding the overall export growth rate. However, this growth was accompanied by a decline in prices. From January to December, China's exports of eight major dyeing products to ASEAN totaled 7.908 billion meters, a year-on-year increase of 12.14%, 4.61 percentage points higher than the overall export growth rate, accounting for 23.58% of total exports. The average export price was US\$1.19 per meter, a year-on-year decrease of 2.75%, 0.64 percentage points lower than the overall decline. Exports to RCEP member countries totaled 8.431 billion meters, a year-on-year increase of 11.35%, 3.82 percentage points higher than the overall export growth rate. The average export price was US\$1.17 per meter, a year-on-year decrease of 2.79%, 0.60 percentage points lower than the overall decline.
