In 2022, both the volume and price of China's home textile exports fell.

In 2022, the global economic downturn, weak consumption, and the disappearance of the benefits of order repatriation put pressure on the production and operation of enterprises, and the downward trend of China's textile product exports was obvious. According to China Customs statistics, China exported a total of US$46.048 billion worth of textile products in 2022, a year-on-year decrease of 3.85%; among them, the export volume decreased by 8.42% year-on-year, the unit price increased by 4.99% year-on-year and remained at a high level, and the year-on-year growth rate of the monthly export value narrowed month by month. Since August, the month-on-month growth rate has continuously narrowed, and the decrease in volume and increase in price have gradually increased the pressure on foreign trade enterprises.
From the perspective of major export markets, the developed economies such as the US, Europe, and Japan have further shown signs of fatigue. According to data from Chinese Customs, in 2022, China's exports of textile products to the US, Europe, and Japan decreased by 16.85%, 14.19%, and 5.44% year-on-year, respectively. The emerging ASEAN market maintained overall stable growth. In 2022, China's exports of textile products to the ASEAN market totaled US$8.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13%, with the volume increasing by 8.28% year-on-year and the unit price increasing by 4.35% year-on-year.
